December Update: Best Meta Decks and Guides for Arena 7-9

Siege Decks

Xbow deck for above 4k trophies and Grand Challenges

Replacements:
The Log -> Zap
Elixir Collector -> Fireball

On Offense:
When set up correctly, this deck is extremely powerful on Offense against any deck because it requires your opponent to think quickly. However, it requires quick thinking on your side too. Place the Xbow 1 square back from the bridge so you have a square in front of the Xbow that you can place troops in. Place the Ice Golem to counter the Skeleton army, Mega Minion to counter Minions and Mega Minions, Skeleton Army to counter Mini PEKKA and other single targeting troops, and place the Fire Spirits to take out Barbarians, Minions, and Minion Hordes. If your opponent has a heavy tank deck like Giant, Golem, or Royal Giant, place the Inferno Tower next to your Xbow and use The Log to make the tank target the Inferno Tower in order to preserve your Xbows health.

On Defense:
This deck does especially well if you can pump up and protect your collector. Building Siege decks also use a defensive technique called “turtling” in order to force your opponent to attack when you want them to, which allows you to make positive trades while you cycle back to your Xbow, which you will set up as soon as you've finished defending. Turtling is done by placing the Xbow in the middle of your arena, and the Inferno Tower next to it. I use this technique whenever I face Golem, Royal Giant, and Lava Hound decks. I sometimes use it against Giant decks if I have a bad deck cycle. By learning when to turtle, you'll become a master of this deck and be able to defeat any deck type.

Mortar Tesla Siege Cycle Deck

Replacements:
The Log -> Zap or Fireball

On Offense:
The goal of this deck is to place your Bowler near the back of the arena, and place the Mortar 1 square back from the bridge as the Bowler gets close to the Bridge. Your Bowler will act as a pushback defense that will be difficult to stop. Add the Mega Minion for air support on top of the Bowler. Your opponent will try to do everything they can to distract and get to your Mortar, so you will want to use small troops like the Ice Spirits, Fire Spirits, and The Log to cycle back to the Mortar. Once you're ready, place down you 2nd Mortar for an unstoppable offense. Another strong offense is including the Tesla to the side of your Mortar, as close to the river as possible. This will add some air support and can even help against strong tanks.

On Defense:
This deck also utilizes the turtling technique when you're not ready to attack and want your opponent to attack, allowing you to switch up your cycle. You will want to turtle when your opponent has a big push building up by placing the Mortar in the middle of the arena, about 3-4 squares in front of the King, and the Tesla next to it. By doing this, your Mortar should clear ground troops while your Tesla makes quick work of air troops, and aids in defending larger tanks. Once you've finished defending, you should be cycled back to your mortar and ready to go into the offensive position!

RG Furnace Lightning

Replacements:
The Log -> Zap

On Offense:
This deck is one of the most commonly used decks in the ladder around 4k trophies right now, and there's a reason why. Not only is it very easy to over-level your Royal Giant because he's a common, but this deck is very strong because it contains counters to the most common counters of the Royal Giant. Place the Furnace in the back and once you're full of elixir, drop your Royal Giant at the bridge and be ready to defend against whatever your opponent throws at you. If they defend with a an Inferno Tower, use the Lightning to bring its health low enough for your Royal Giant to finish it off. If your opponent has the Mega Minion, place your Mega Minion on top of the Royal Giant. Use the Fire Spirits to take care of air troops like the Minion Horde. If your opponent has the Skeleton Army, be prepared with The Log.

On Defense:
The Furnace does a good job at adding constant pressure, but it's also a great card to use when facing people with spell-bait decks. You should use the Mega Minion to take care of Hog Rider Decks. The Skeleton Army is a great card to use if your opponent is using a Giant deck, but there are some times when it is better to Lightning the support cards and use the Mega Minion to take out the Giant's remaining health. Archers are also great to use because of their high amount of damage.
