OP Goblin Barrel + Miner Cycle Deck for Grand Challenge!

This is KairosTime, sharing another Challenge Winning deck that has proven to make it all the way to victory in a Grand Challenge! This deck takes some skill to use but with this guide and some practice, you can make this deck work very well in Challenges and even in the ladder! I’ve had a lot of success with this deck above 3800 trophies, even with a level 7 Furnace!

My Deck

Card Alternatives

Miner - In this deck, the Miner fills the role of a mini tank if you need some quick damage on the enemy tower. You can replace him for either the Knight or the Ice Golem, but the effect isn’t quite the same. The deck will still work if you don’t have the Miner though.

The Log - The Log is a difficult card to replace because of how unique it is. That being said, you can replace it with Zap, or if you’re seeing a lot of princesses or Minion Hordes, you can replace it for Arrows.

Starting Hand:

The best starting hand will include the Furnace, Goblin Barrel and Miner, or the Mega Minion. If you have the Furnace, you’ll want to play that 2 tiles in front of your king in the middle of the arena. The continual stream of Fire Spirits will drive your opponent nuts. If you don’t have the Furnace, go for a Miner + Goblin Barrel Rush on whichever side your opponent doesn’t place a troop on. This should hopefully show you one of your opponent’s spells. If that’s not an option, you can always do a defensive Mega Minion behind your King’s tower. Because this deck is mostly a spell-bait deck, I wouldn’t recommend using your Golem until after 2x elixir for the majority of your matches.

Offense:

The goal of this deck is to find out which spells and splash troops your opponent has and play according to their spells. Once you know what is in their deck, you will want to play 1 of 3 different ways:

  1. When your opponent has very little splash damage in their deck. In this case, you will want to cycle through the Miner, Goblin Barrel, Skeleton Army, Minion Horde, and Furnace for an unstoppable swarm. I wouldn’t even bother using the Golem if this is the case.

  2. When your opponent has a lot of splash damage in their deck. When you’re playing someone with this type of deck, it is better to go for a Golem push, starting with the Golem in the back. By doing this, and supporting your Golem with the Mega Minion, your opponent will have a difficult time stopping this strong force.

  3. When your opponent’s deck is balanced between single point damage, and splash damage. If this is the case, the best thing to do is to try and catch your opponent off guard. Make sure you pay close attention to which cards they have played, and which cards are out of rotation.

Defense:

This deck does pretty well on defense, but it takes some skill to use. If your opponent doesn’t have a lot of splash damage in their deck, the best defense is an aggressive offense. If your opponent is able to shut down your swarms pretty well, it’s a good idea to use the Furnace and the Mega Minion on defense. Another powerful defender is the Minion Horde, who will shred through tanks if left alone. This is the same for the Skeleton Army, which could be great Zap bait. If your opponent zaps your Skeleton Army, you are ready for a Goblin Barrel launch. Placement of your Mega Minion is key if you want to get rid of enemy supporting troops.
